Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems, machinery, and production lines
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimize downtime
  • Maintain conveyors, motors, pumps, gearboxes, pneumatics, hydraulics, and other mechanical components
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, mechanical, and workplace safety standards
  • Support installation and commissioning of new or upgraded equipment
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports
  • Collaborate with production and electrical teams to improve equipment reliability
  • Participate in shift work or on-call duties as required

Skills

  • SVQ3 and HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in an industrial or food processing environment
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and industrial machinery
  • Experience working with preventive maintenance programs and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong commitment to safety, hygiene, and food safety standards
  • Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, or similar food safety systems
