As Engineering Team Manager, you will be responsible for leading engineering activity on shift and ensuring the safe and effective delivery of maintenance across the site.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and coordinating engineering activity across the shift team
- Managing engineering response to breakdowns and major equipment failures
- Allocating resources effectively between reactive and planned maintenance
- Ensuring planned maintenance schedules are delivered and recorded in the CMMS
- Maintaining strong engineering discipline, documentation and compliance standards
- Enforcing safe systems of work including isolation and permit procedures
- Supporting root cause investigations and reliability improvement initiatives
- Leading daily shift briefings and maintaining clear engineering communication
- Coaching and developing engineers within the team
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, engineering workmanship and asset care

The Person
We are looking for a strong technical engineer who can combine hands-on fault-finding capability with practical team leadership. You will typically have:
- A time-served mechanical or electrical apprenticeship
- Strong fault-finding experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working within food production or FMCG manufacturing
- The ability to lead engineers and coordinate work during breakdown situations
- Experience using CMMS systems for maintenance recording
- Strong knowledge of safe systems of work and engineering compliance
- Previous team leader or supervisory experience
- Experience within high-care food manufacturing environments
- Exposure to root cause analysis methodologies
- Understanding of the cost of downtime and production impact
