Required Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Student Affairs, College Student Development, or related field.
- Professional experience with a live-in, on-call position.
- Knowledge of Student Development Theory and higher education ethical practices.
- Knowledge of StarRez and Ellucian Banner.
- Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field.
- One to three years of professional residence hall supervisory experience; extensive undergraduate/graduate experience will be considered.
- Knowledge of housing software systems, preferably StarRez.

Job Duties:
- Serve as a key member of the Residence Life leadership team, working closely with the Senior Associate Director of Residence and Student Life in supporting and supervising a personalised engaging experience for residential students at Kettering University.
- Provide leadership to the Resident Assistant staff.
- Participate in the day-to-day operations of the Department of Residence Life.
- Participate in the Administrator On-Call rotation, supervising on-duty Resident Assistants, and providing crisis and emergency response in accordance with departmental and university policies.
- Assist with strategic planning, tactical implementation, and assessment of programs and services in the Department of Residence Life.
- Assist in overseeing residence hall occupancy, managing residential services, supervising hall facilities, and maintenance issues.
- Assist with staff recruitment and selection, staff training and development, staff programming, and student leadership development.
Percent of total time: 20%
- Provide primary leadership for the Department of Residence Life’s front desk operations and customer service initiatives.
- Manage front desk operations and communications.
- Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate Desk Assistants.
- Manage main Residence Life email and direct communications to appropriate locations.
- Keep information current and updated on our Housing Portal, internal, and external websites.
Percent of total time: 10%
- Serve as backup for the Director of Residence Life in their absence and represent the Department of Residence Life.
- Collaborate with campus partners on various projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
Percent of total time: 30%
- Interfraternity council advisor, meeting 1:1 with chapter presidents, leading/attending council meetings.
- Coordinating with the Director of Student Life and Associate Dean of Students to assist with chapter accountability and community development within Fraternity and Sorority Life.
- Assist in implementing and supporting Fraternity and Sorority Life initiatives such as House Manager Training, Health & Safety Training and Fraternity and Sorority Life traditions including Hazing Prevention Week with Associate Dean of Students and Director of Student Life.
- Coordinate and support FSL Programming with student leaders and campus partners.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Campus Safety, with Student Life and the Associate Dean of Students.
- Partner with the Office of Student Conduct to adjudicate individual violations of the Student Code of Conduct involving Fraternity and Sorority Housing residents.
