Overview

We are looking for a Band 3 Ophthalmic Technician to join the Spencer Ward team at Kettering General Hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and support registered staff in the delivery of high quality, individualised, dignified and compassionate care to patients.
  • After necessary training and induction, be an integral member of the ophthalmic technical service and contribute to maintaining a comprehensive patient pathway.
  • Work independently when appropriate and collaborate closely with other members of the team.
  • Participate in the development of care for patients attending the ophthalmic department and ensure the safety and well‑being of service users, upholding patient dignity and human rights.
  • Support the effective running of the department by prioritising tasks that directly address patient needs and contribute to their journey.
  • Work under the supervision of a registered healthcare practitioner, within the scope of competence, and communicate and document relevant information to the multidisciplinary team in a professional, timely manner.
  • Aim to maintain a high standard of patient‑centred care and influence others by role modelling appropriate practice.
