This key role is responsible for food safety and quality throughout the manufacturing process, ensuring that all products are produced to customer specifications and that all food safety and quality records are maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management of micro schedule ensure micro samples are collected and booked in according to the schedule.
- Review and trend results to ensure legal, 3rd party and customer requirements are met and files are audit ready.
- Assist with updating and maintaining the QMS to ensure compliance with 3rd Party and customer standards.
- Carry out training and competency assessment of all staff to ensure compliance to the QMS policies and procedures.
- Assist in the monitoring of the QMS System and Pre-Requisite Programme by carrying out internal audits implementing corrective action and continuous improvement.
- Management of the calibration schedule.
- Assist Food safety & Integrity Co-ordinator in TACCP.
- Administration of HACCP, attend HACCP meetings and update HACCP as directed by HACCP Team and Head of Technical.
- IA Management on a month-to-month basis.
- Product recall and withdrawal carry out mock recalls.
- Commissioning of new equipment ensure all paperwork held on file and carried out as per procedures.
- Site maps and site risk assessments.
- Food Safety & Quality Culture Team member.
- Effective communication within internal operations teams to drive standards and customer expectations forward.
- Assist in preparation for external audits and customer visits.
- Assist with traceability exercises.
- Assist with customer requests as required.
- Any other duties as required to fulfil Company needs.
Essential Criteria:
- Degree or equivalent in a technical, food related discipline.
- 1 year minimum food manufacturing experience.
- Be familiar with food safety management systems that comply with GFSI standards, including BRC.
- Self-motivated individual who has determination and drive to succeed.
- First class communicator who has excellent interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to Food Safety & Quality and a passion to promote food safety culture with a 'can-do' attitude.
- Team player who is also able to work unaccompanied.
- Able to prioritise multiple activities/requirements and to complete them to the expected level of detail and accuracy.
- Computer Literacy skills with a good understanding of all Microsoft Office Packages.
- Flexible approach to working hours in line with business needs.
Desirable Criteria:
- Level 2 Food Safety.
- Level 2 HACCP.
- Internal Auditor Training.
