If you already work within motor accident management, vehicle repair claims or claims progression and want to join a professional business where you’re trusted to manage your cases properly, this could be worth a conversation.

We’re recruiting an experienced Motor Claims Handler to join an established accident management business in Nantwich. This isn’t a traditional insurance claims handling role. The position is focused on managing the customer journey following a motor accident, progressing claims and vehicle repairs, keeping cases moving and making sure customers and the various parties involved are kept informed throughout.

The role

You’ll take ownership of your own caseload and manage claims from FNOL – First Notification of Loss – through the repair and claims progression process. Day to day, this will include:

  • Taking and managing FNOL enquiries
  • Managing a caseload of active motor claims
  • Progressing claims and vehicle repairs
  • Liaising with customers, repairers and other parties involved in the claim
  • Keeping customers updated throughout the process
  • Identifying delays or issues and taking action to move cases forward
  • Prioritising urgent and more complex cases
  • Handling difficult or emotional conversations professionally
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed claim records
  • Taking responsibility for cases through to resolution
  • Working closely with colleagues to provide a consistently high level of service

This is a role where good judgement matters. You’ll often have several things happening at once, so being able to assess priorities, spot important information and take ownership of a situation is important.

Who we’re looking for

We’re particularly interested in people already working within areas such as: Accident Management, Motor Claims, Vehicle Repair Claims, FNOL, Claims Progression, Repair Management, Motor Claims Handling.

You may currently be working for an accident management company, vehicle repair network, bodyshop group or another business involved in managing customers and repairs following road traffic accidents.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Previous experience handling motor accident or vehicle repair claims
  • Experience managing your own caseload
  • A good understanding of FNOL and claims progression
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Confidence dealing with customers who may be frustrated or distressed
  • The ability to manage a busy workload and competing priorities
  • Good attention to detail
  • A proactive approach to progressing cases rather than simply waiting for updates
  • The confidence to take ownership when something needs resolving

The business

There’s also a lot to like about the environment. The company is professional and takes the quality of its service seriously, but it isn’t an overly corporate place to work. The atmosphere is relaxed, approachable and supportive, and there is a genuine emphasis on treating employees well. Management are considerate, people are trusted to do their jobs and there’s a strong sense that individuals are valued rather than simply being another number in a large claims operation.

For someone who enjoys the accident management industry but would appreciate working in a more personable environment, it’s a genuinely interesting opportunity.
