Our client, based in Hartlepool, is looking for someone to join their Laboratory team on a permanent basis as a Laboratory Technician.
Purpose of the role: To provide analytical support to the manufacturing departments.
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for ensuring that Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental standards are applied in all production plant areas in accordance with clients policies, guidelines and procedures.
- To ensure that the products are of the required specification, and assist the Senior tech and Lab admin as required.
Duties:
- Maintain a high standard of safety and housekeeping in the laboratory.
- Perform analysis on products, and packed product, according to defined analytical methods and standard operating procedures.
- Preparation of samples for HPLC and GC analysis.
- Perform routine maintenance on HPLC and GC analysis.
- Preparation and dispatch of samples to customers, or contract laboratories, as appropriate.
- Record and report analytical results to production staff.
- Keep lab admin up to date of levels of laboratory reagents and consumables.
- Arrange for correct disposal of laboratory waste.
