The Project Manager will lead and deliver a portfolio of sustaining (maintenance and reliability) and growth CAPEX projects across terminal assets. The role is responsible for overseeing all stages of project development and execution, ensuring safe delivery to agreed objectives, budgets, and timelines, while maintaining full compliance with company standards and UK/European regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Define Project Basis of Design and Scope of Works ensuring Engineering input and authorisation of project designs prior to procurement/execution.
- Ensure adequate resource and time allocated for Process Hazard Analysis studies e.g. HAZOP/HAZIP/LOPA.
- Development of Schedules and Budgets.
- Preparation of Business Cases for approval at each project stage gate.
- Ensure application of the Management of Change and Commissioning and Handover procedures.
- Ensure all projects comply with procedures, UK safety and environmental regulations (e.g. COMAH/CDM), planning regulations and industry best practice.
- Control project Estimate at Completion vs Budget At Completion/Authorised spend.
- Monitor Committed and Uncommitted Spend and all contract variations.
- Ensure timely goods receipting and accurate monthly Actuals/Forecasting on assigned projects.
- Management of contractors including; production of permits to work, method statements, risk assessments and identifying all hazards.
- Ensure that all direct report staff and contractors work to the site procedures and in line with the UK safety management systems.
- Attend site out of hours, if available, for critical project activities.
Skills and Experience
- A relevant engineering degree or similar qualification is advantageous.
- External accreditation with a recognised Project management methodology (PMP/Prince 2).
- Experience as project manager, managing multiple brownfield modification projects on process, chemical or petrochemical and COMAH sites.
- Experience managing project teams.
