Our client, based in Teesside, is looking for a Permit Supervisor involved in the tank cleaning side of the business. The role will require planning, documentation review, preparation, oversight and auditing. Hours of work would be Monday-Friday 08:00am – 4.00pm. Key Responsibilities: * Process Safety Management – Act as the chaperone for contractor job scoping visits, and the technical authority to ensure that the best method of cleaning was applied. * Process Safety Management – Planning and review of RAMS * Process Safety Management – Plant preparation and isolation plans compliant with HSE standards and guidance * Control of Work – Originate Permits to Work * Ensure contractor compliance through pre-job discussions, documentation review and checks, and on-going audit of cleaning activities through the process * Control of Work – Fulfil the role of handover of the decontaminated tank to the integrity/maintenance department * Environmental Management – ensure all waste is controlled and managed in line with internal and external guidance * Acts as Subject Matter Expert * Participates in Permit and Tank Planning meetings to ensure program is up to date and clear communication is provided * Performs permit to work audits on tank cleaning teams Skills & Qualifications: * Related safety/engineering qualification * 5-10 years experience in the petrochemical/process sector in tank cleaning supervision or confined space entry permit to work * Extensive experience in a COMAH regulated environment. * Practical and working knowledge of regulatory compliance. * Experience with technical writing applicable to procedures, work instructions, guides and manuals. * Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, various email and internet applications * Excellent communication skills both oral and written; experience dealing with regulatory officials.
