We are delighted to be looking for a SAP Material Master Specialist to join our client's team on a permanent basis. This exciting opportunity has arisen within a growing manufacturing business. We are ideally looking for an individual with implementation experience during a transitional period. This is a site based role hours of work are Monday-Thursday 8.00am-4.30pm, Friday 8.00am-3.30pm.
A SAP Material Master Specialist is responsible for creating, maintaining, and governing material master records within SAP ECC or S/4HANA systems, ensuring data accuracy across Basic Data, Purchasing, MRP, and Accounting views. They ensure high-quality, standardised data to support procurement, inventory, and production, often managing data via SAP MDG or mass upload tools.
Key Responsibilities- Data Creation & Maintenance: Create, extend, and update material master records, ensuring compliance with company nomenclature standards.
- Data Integrity & Governance: Monitor data accuracy across all views (e.g., General, Purchasing, MRP, Costing, Sales) and ensure proper classification.
- System Operations: Perform mass uploads/updates (via Excel), manage material classifications, units of measure, and valuation data.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Procurement, Finance, and Production teams to update bills of materials (BOMs), routings, and material pricing.
- Data Troubleshooting: Resolve data-related issues, such as errors in purchase orders or material availability.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of SAP MM module (S/4HANA preferred) and SAP MDG.
- Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail in handling material descriptions, classifications, and vendor information.
- Process Knowledge: Familiarity with procurement, supply chain, or manufacturing processes.
- Tools: Proficient in Excel for managing bulk data updates.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Material Master Analyst, Specialist, or Data Analyst.
