The UK Office, based in Wimbledon, supplies diverse confectionery products to major retailers such as Aldi, Asda, Morrisons, and Spar.
Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a Food Technologist, located in Wimbledon. The Food Technologist will be responsible for overseeing the quality assurance of confectionery products, development and testing. Key tasks include ensuring the adherence to food safety standards, dealing with factories about quality processes and complaints, supporting the product research and development team, managing the customer onboarding process. The role also involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize product specifications and ensure production efficiency while maintaining the highest standards in food technology practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Control: Conduct quality control tests and inspections on food products to ensure they meet safety and regulatory standards.
- Documentation: Maintaining the HACCP and BRC documentation, process, detailed records of all processes and specifications, prepare and present reports on research findings, product trials, and tests.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all food products comply with food safety and sanitation regulations, including documentation of product specifications.
- Collaboration: Work closely with suppliers, production teams, marketing, and regulatory bodies to develop and launch new products.
- Product Development: Work closely with the suppliers in developing new products, enhancing existing items to improve taste, texture, nutritional value, and convenience.
- Research: Stay updated on the latest food technology trends, consumer preferences, and nutritional elements to inform product development.
Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related field is required.
- Experience: Proven experience as a Food Technologist or in a similar role within the food industry is required.
- Certifications: Certifications related to food safety and quality control, such as HACCP or BRC, can enhance job prospects.
