The Role
You will be responsible for managing your own caseload of insurance-related costs matters, supporting legal teams throughout the litigation process and maximising costs recovery for clients. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality costs services while working closely with fee earners, partners and clients on a broad range of contentious costs issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting Inter Partes Bills of Costs, Statements of Costs and Costs Budgets
- Advising fee earners on costs recovery, strategy and procedural requirements
- Managing matters through detailed assessment proceedings where necessary (desirable)
- Preparing costs schedules and documentation for hearings and settlement discussions
- Ensuring compliance with CPR and costs legislation
- Building strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and insurer clients
- Assisting with technical costs queries and providing commercial costs advice
About You
- Experience in a Costs Draftsperson or Qualified Costs Lawyer role
- Strong understanding of CPR and costs law
- Experience drafting Bills of Costs
- Ability to manage a busy caseload independently
- Excellent communication and client management skills
