A leading national law firm is seeking an experienced Litigated Credit Hire Specialist to join its growing motor litigation team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex, high-value credit hire claims within a supportive and high-performing environment.
The Role
You will manage a caseload of litigated credit hire and injury files, handling matters from the point of litigation through to resolution, including trial where necessary. The role requires a strategic and analytical approach to investigating and defending complex claims, often involving detailed legal and tactical decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of litigated credit hire files from instruction through to conclusion
- Reviewing and analysing claims in line with client guidelines
- Developing case strategies and obtaining approval where required
- Conducting legal research and preparing case documentation
- Drafting legal documents including defences, directions questionnaires, and counter schedules
- Handling disclosure, exchange of evidence, and pre-trial preparation
- Drafting CPR Part 18 and Part 35 questions
- Instructing Counsel and preparing for hearings
- Negotiating with third-party solicitors
- Liaising with clients, insurers, and insured parties
- Maintaining accurate case management records and MI reporting
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards
- Working to targets within a fast-paced environment
Requirements
- Proven experience handling litigated credit hire claims
- Ability to manage your own caseload independently
- Strong knowledge of the litigation process, particularly RTA claims
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads
- Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions
- Proficient IT skills, including experience with case management systems
- A degree or LPC is desirable but not essential
