The Role
As Court of Protection Team Leader, you will oversee a dedicated team handling a varied and technically complex caseload. You will combine fee-earning with leadership responsibilities, acting as a technical reference point while driving performance, quality, and client satisfaction.
Key responsibilities include:
- Strong drafting skills and the ability to deal with complex COP cases
- Provide day to day assistance with junior members of staff including providing some supervision and technical guidance
- Reviewing work, giving constructive feedback and supporting the development of team members
- Drafting, negotiating, and settling Court of Protection bills
- Providing technical guidance and quality assurance across the team
- Liaising with solicitors, deputies, and other professional clients
- Assisting with workflow management, capacity planning, and process improvement
- Contributing to the ongoing growth and reputation of the Court of Protection department
About You
You will be an experienced Court of Protection costs professional with the confidence and credibility to lead from the front. You are likely to have:
- Strong experience in Court of Protection costs (essential)
- Previous experience supervising, mentoring, or informally leading others (or readiness to step up into leadership)
- Excellent technical knowledge of Court of Protection billing and assessment procedures
