The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload across a range of costs matters, working closely with clients to provide strategic and practical advice. Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting inter partes Bills of Costs and Solicitors’ Bills
  • Preparing Points of Dispute and Replies
  • Negotiating costs and engaging with opposing costs representatives
  • Advising clients on costs recovery, risk and strategy
  • Assisting with detailed assessment and costs hearings where required
  • Building strong, long-term client relationships

Candidate Profile

  • Experience as a Costs Draftsman or qualified Costs Lawyer
  • Experience drafting a bill of costs
  • Experience with preparing points of dispute and/or replies
  • Experience with negotiating costs
  • Strong technical knowledge of costs law and procedure
  • Ability to manage a caseload with minimal supervision
  • Commercial mindset with a client-focused approach
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Clear and confident written and verbal communication
