Hybrid Working | High-Value, Complex Litigation

Are you a talented Costs Lawyer looking to work at the very top end of high-value, complex litigation? This is a rare opportunity to join one of the UK’s leading litigation law firms - a firm renowned for acting in headline-grabbing, market-defining disputes and delivering exceptional results for high-net-worth individuals, major corporates, and institutions. This firm is widely recognised for its elite disputes practice, collaborative culture, and uncompromising commitment to quality.

You’ll be joining a highly regarded and expanding Costs team that plays a pivotal role in some of the most significant cases in the market. If you’re looking to move away from volume work and into technically challenging, high-value matters where your expertise is genuinely valued, this is the opportunity to elevate your career.

The Role

As a Costs Lawyer, you will work closely with partners and fee earners across a broad range of complex litigation matters, which may include commercial disputes, international arbitration, competition claims, group litigation, insolvency, fraud, and high-value personal injury work. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting high-value inter partes bills of costs (including multi-million-pound claims)
  • Preparing Replies
  • Conducting detailed assessments and negotiating settlements
  • Advising fee earners and partners on costs strategy throughout the lifecycle of a case
  • Budget preparation, Precedent H drafting and costs management
  • Managing your own caseload while contributing to wider team strategy

This is a strategic, advisory role — not a high-volume production environment. You will be encouraged to think commercially, contribute to litigation strategy, and engage directly with senior stakeholders.

About You

  • Qualified Costs Lawyer (or experienced Costs Draftsperson with equivalent expertise)
  • Strong technical knowledge of CPR and costs procedure
  • Experience handling high-value or complex litigation matters
  • Confident communicator, able to liaise with partners and clients
  • Detail-oriented with a commercial mindset

Why Apply?

  • Work on some of the most complex and high-profile cases in the UK
  • Be part of a genuinely collaborative and specialist disputes firm
  • Hybrid working and strong work-life balance
  • Clear progression framework within a respected and growing team
  • Competitive salary and excellent benefits package

This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious Costs Lawyer seeking high-calibre work within a firm that truly values specialist expertise and quality over volume. For a confidential discussion, please get in touch.
