About the Role
We are recruiting for a Multi-site Senior HSE Advisor, based across two of our sites; our manufacturing site in Bury, which is an Upper Tier COMAH site, and our newly acquired Lower Tier COMAH site in Rochdale. Time between the two sites will be split accordingly, with flexibility required where necessary. In addition to site-based activities the role includes supporting our field-based colleagues and colleagues across our other UK sites.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintain and evaluate compliance of legal register via the appropriate software.
- Develop, implement and maintain compliance with ISO 9001, 45001 and 14001.
- Provide safety advice within the organisation to meet statutory, regulatory, and organisational requirements.
- Support the management team to comply with the safety and environmental management systems.
- Represent the company in discussions, meetings, and audits with the HSE, BSI, EA and other key stakeholders.
- Manage the incident reporting, action and non-conformity system (SHEQ App).
- Support the undertaking of risk based incident investigations, escalating when appropriate, and provide technical advice where required.
- Provide safety training to meet internal and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to create and deliver tool box talks.
- Where required take the lead on the communication, consultation and participation on Health and Safety matters.
- Compile and report safety and environmental performance data and objectives to relevant parties.
- Support in the management of Occupational Health Surveillance.
- Member of the onsite emergency response team including out-of-hours cover.
Skills and Attributes/ Experience and Qualifications:
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
- Minimum Technical Member of IOSH for 2+ years.
- Ideally have COMAH experience or experience of working with chemicals.
- Experience of advising on all aspects of health and safety.
- Experience working with Stakeholders to maintain a positive Health and Safety culture.
- Ability to plan for and manage multiple priorities.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a wider SHEQ team.
- IT literate with a good understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Full driving license required.
