Role Summary:
We are recruiting for an Area Sales Manager to join our Pig & Poultry Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Supporting customers and attending regular technical service visits
- Delivery of the budget in terms of turnover and margin for customers
- Maintenance of existing customer accounts and accountability for growing the area business into new account opportunities
- Maintenance of the business reporting tools and CRM system
- Development of the area business plan that will feed into the National Plan
- Attending national events, which may involve overnight stays
- Ensuring company policy is followed in terms of regulatory compliance across all customer sites
- Adhering to all aspects of health and safety.
Key Skills / Attributes / Core Competencies:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the agricultural/food processing sector
- Ideally a background within the Pig and /or Poultry sectors
- Agricultural/Science qualification to degree level is preferred
- Ability to plan for and manage multiple priorities
- Organised and efficient to manage own diary, meet deadlines and deliver objectives
- IT literate with a good understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Personal Attributes / Core Behaviours:
- Excellent professional sales technique with an ability to generate new business and maintain customer relationships
- An understanding of agricultural processes and procedures, particularly within the pig and poultry sectors
- Good presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate communication between teams and with customers and colleagues in person via email and over the phone
- Ability to continually improve quality and effectiveness of all activities
- Full UK driving licence is required
