We have an exciting opportunity for a Blending Operative in our Kerry Team in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. It is a full-time, permanent position with a rotating shift pattern on days, afternoons and nights; Monday to Friday.
Reporting to the Team Leader, your role will be to continually develop your production area to support the delivery of the site plan. You will be responsible for working as part of a team on rotational shifts on varying production lines, to ensure your designated area delivers against its KPI’s. This role will be great for someone with previous experience as a Productive Operative, Line Operative, Factory Operative and similar roles.
The Gainsborough site consists of 5 integrated plants with around 110 employees, where we produce a variety of products, like flours, batters, and ingredients of meat-free food. Its history dates back to 1963, when the first Flour Milling Plant was established. The Gainsborough site is based close to Gainsborough Lea Road train station (13 minutes by walk) and has onsite parking and canteen.
Your responsibilities as a Blending Operative will include:
- Taking care of a production area.
- Delivering production plan through teamwork on shifts.
- Adhering to Food Manufacturing Safety & Quality Standards.
- Supporting implementation of Lean Manufacturing Techniques.
- Being responsible for equipment efficiencies, waste and materials.
- Co-creating with other team members a factory environment where individuals feel able to continually challenge the status quo, embrace change and make decisions to improve performance.
Position requires standing and walking for long periods, climbing stairs and ladders, working with tools, working within close-confined spaces, and working within extreme temperatures. Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment, ideally within FMCG. Good understanding and interpretation of data. Excel, Word, Outlook. Ability to work under pressure within a high-performance, fast-moving environment. Food production experience and food safety certificate (desirable). SAP knowledge (desirable). Forklift truck experience/qualification (desirable).
