About the Role
Here at Kerry, we have an exciting opportunity for a full time, permanent Quality Systems Lead at our Portbury manufacturing site. This role involves overseeing our Quality Management System to ensure full compliance with the Kerry Manufacturing Standard (KMS), Site Food Security and Food Safety Programs, Group Regulatory policies, Product specifications, and all other Customer requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding and high level of awareness of food quality policies, procedures, and systems. The Quality Systems Lead will provide technical systems support to the Quality and Production teams to ensure a standardised approach to all QMS activities on site. The successful candidate will need a degree of flexibility in terms of start/finish time to meet business needs and may need to travel to audit suppliers and service providers.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the site’s internal audit programme to ensure audits are completed to the required frequency
- Trend internal and external non‑conformances and drive close out of non‑conformances
- Perform routine factory‑based food safety and quality standards inspections and audits including (but not an exhaustive list) Fabrication inspections, GMP, Hygiene Verification audits, Foreign body inspections, layered confirmation audits, logging all non‑conformances
- Support during any external audits and visits, including 3rd party and customer audits
- Co‑ordinate and challenge the site’s traceability system to ensure compliance in line with company procedures
- Co‑ordinate the site’s mock recalls in line with company and customer expectations, completing post mock recall reviews to continuously improve
- Manage the completion of all quality and food safety site KPIs
- Drive the resolution and close out of non‑conformances
- Lead the completion of required customer reports and documentation
Qualifications and Skills
- Experienced and proficient quality professional with a good eye for detail and an understanding of Food Safety, Quality Management Systems and BRC Global Food Standard
- Degree or equivalent in Food science/technology related subject
- Proficient written, numerical and verbal skills, fluency of English
- Numerical ability to record, interpret and analyze key processing data
- SAP experience is beneficial but not essential as training is provided
- Excellent communication skills at all levels up and down
- Proficient in the use of MS Office tools
