About the role
At Kerry, we’re passionate about creating sustainable nutrition solutions that nourish people, society, and the planet. We’re now looking for a Senior RD&A Technologist to join our Meat Coating team and play a key role in developing market‑leading coating systems that deliver exceptional performance for our customers in the meat and meat‑alternative space. In this role, you’ll combine hands‑on formulation expertise with customer‑focused innovation — bringing ideas to life through thoughtful design, technical excellence, and meaningful collaboration. Key responsibilities
- Create, test, and optimise coating systems including batters, breadings, adhesion systems, glazes, and functional coatings.
- Conduct benchtop experiments, sensory evaluations, and technical validations that help us deliver truly differentiated solutions.
- Execute coating application trials using pilot‑scale equipment (tumbler, applicator, fryer, oven, freezer, etc.).
- Simulate industrial processes to ensure every solution is robust, scalable, and ready to perform in real‑world production environments.
- Support customer projects through sample preparation, technical demos, and participation in plant trials.
- Troubleshoot coating or processing challenges, providing science‑backed recommendations that build trust and deliver value.
- Prepare technical insights and contribute to customer meetings alongside our commercial teams.
- Manage multiple projects at once, balancing technical depth with timely delivery to meet business and customer priorities.
Qualifications and skills
- Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Culinary Science, or a related field.
- Experience working with meat products and/or coating systems (batter, breading, adhesion technologies).
- Hands‑on laboratory and pilot plant experience.
- Strong understanding of food processing and coating performance across frying, baking, and other thermal systems.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Supporting customer projects or participating in plant trials.
- Knowledge of clean‑label, gluten‑free, or plant‑based coating technologies.
