At our Omagh site, we have an opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to undertake an advanced apprenticeship as a Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technician, leading to a nationally recognised qualification and accreditation.

Key responsibilities

  • Completing a comprehensive training program within the Engineering Department, covering both Electrical & Electronic engineering and Mechanical engineering.
  • Performing electrical wiring tasks, ranging from lighting to high-speed manufacturing equipment.
  • Assembling mechanical components such as pumps, motors, and valves.
  • Conducting electrical control testing and fault finding.
  • Participating in onsite installation, commissioning, and machine modifications.
  • Carrying out routine maintenance on modern food manufacturing equipment.
  • Programming PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).

Qualifications:

  • Essential: Minimum of 4 GCSEs at A*-C grade or equivalent, including Maths, Science, and English.

Experience/Knowledge:

  • Essential: Demonstrable interest in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) through educational, vocational, or extra-curricular activities (e.g., courses, activities, hobbies).
