We have an exciting opportunity for a Mill Operative in our Kerry Team in Gainsborough, Co. Lincolnshire. As a Mill Operative, you will play a crucial role in the continuous development of your production area, supporting the delivery of the site plan.

Responsibilities

  • Handle raw materials: intake, transfer, and preparation of raw materials to ensure high‑quality flour.
  • Maintain quality and efficiency: ensure product quality, minimise waste, and keep the plant running efficiently.
  • Monitor machinery: inspect and maintain mill machinery to prevent issues and ensure smooth operations.
  • Team collaboration: work with your team to deliver the production plan and maintain a safe, efficient work environment.
  • Record keeping: accurately record and maintain paperwork to support product traceability and quality.
  • Problem solving: address and solve non‑engineering issues with machinery to minimise stoppages and improve efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Good spoken and written English.
  • Good numeracy and interpretation of data skills.
  • Food safety certificate or health & safety qualification (desirable).
  • Previous SAP knowledge (desirable).
  • Experience of automated process lines.
  • Previous flour milling or food production experience (desirable).
  • NABIM qualifications (highly advantageous).
  • Basic IT skills – knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Ability to work in a team and independently.
  • Open and eager to learn; training for miller will be provided.

Work Schedule & Physical Requirements

It is a full‑time, permanent position. You will be working on an 8‑hour shift, rotating on days, evenings and nights, Monday to Friday. Position requires standing and walking for long periods, climbing stairs and ladders, working with tools, working within close‑confined spaces, and working within extreme temperatures.
