We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team at our Taste & Nutrition Manufacturing facility in Runcorn. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will play a key role in keeping our production equipment running safely and efficiently. This opportunity has arisen due to the planned retirement of a team member.
You will be responsible for:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Responding to breakdowns
- Supporting continuous improvement activities to maximize equipment reliability and plant performance
This is a permanent, full-time position operating on early and late shifts from Monday to Friday, alternation between 5.30 am - 1.30 pm & 1.15 pm - 9.15 pm, with specific schedule on Friday 5.30 am - 12.30 pm & 12.15 pm - 7.15 pm.
In this role you will provide full technical engineering support to the Production function, including:
- Complying with the health and safety policy and regulations
- Carrying out risk assessments with the relevant people and putting controls in place to minimise the risk to acceptable levels where reasonably practicable
- Locking off any dangerous machinery immediately or repairing and notifying
- Resolving breakdowns, carrying out PM’s and working on project/improvement works with a view to minimizing production downtime
- Fully completing PM sheets with all observations, jobs completed and recommendations and filing with the Maintenance Planner
- Actively gaining as much information as possible from production personnel regarding the fault on the machine to speed up the fault-finding process
- Ensuring engineering log and computer systems are fully filled in with all relevant information including PM numbers, all used parts, plant numbers, urgency of required parts, at the end of each shift
Qualifications:
- Qualified multi-skilled engineer with mechanical and/or electrical expertise
- Strong experience in manufacturing maintenance and equipment reliability
- Experience with SAP is an advantage
