About the role
We are currently looking for a Production Group Leader to join our Omagh site, which employs around 100 people and produces high-quality dairy products, including ice cream, cream, custards, and syrups enjoyed every day.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be part of a team of five Group Leaders, playing a critical role in driving performance, team engagement, and continuous improvement across production.
This is a shift-based position operating on a rotating 12-hour pattern (days and nights), offering a structured schedule 4 days on, 3 nights on, with 2–3 days off between rotations, plus 1 full week off every 4 weeks.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the production team to ensure they are engaged and high performing
- Manage performance of team members and identify those who have the interest and ability to progress
- Manage grievance and disciplinary issues as required with the support of HR
- Check that standards are set within the factory and continuously improve standards
- Manage the availability of labour against the plan
- Cover essential elements of Production Manager and Team Leader Role in the event of absence.
- As part of a wider project team assist and managing the delivery of key projects that have an impact on the value stream
- Lead through the use of A3 Problem Solving/Fish bone analysing tools, the process of identifying the root cause of problems.
- Maximize output consistently with meeting specified product quality standards
- Conduct risk assessment on all processes and tasks.
Qualifications and skills
- Proven experience as a Supervisor in food manufacturing or a similar environment
- Good knowledge of lean processes and problem-solving techniques
- Comfortable working with IT systems, with experience in SAP or similar ERP systems in a production environment
- Resourceful and resilient, able to perform in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communicator, confident engaging stakeholders at all levels
- Well-organised, with the ability to prioritise effectively and adapt to changing needs.
