We have a fantastic opportunity for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias to join our Cam site, near Dursley in Gloucestershire. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, the role will be to support the Production team in delivering the highest quality product, on time and in full, by maintaining the plant and ensuring that all breakdowns are dealt with in a timely manner to minimise downtime.
As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will take ownership of all systems and electrical applications. You will ensure that the plant fully complies with all safety legislation and will be responsible for both proactive and reactive maintenance and repair of equipment. There will be an emphasis on minimising waste and downtime across the site, initiating RCA on significant failures.
The role requires strong communication skills, sharing information with all relevant parties (both skilled and unskilled) and recording all key information in SAP. You will assess situations and required action before resorting to further escalation.
Working hours will be shift based with clearly defined ‘Production Focused’ and “Planned Maintenance Focused” depending on Production and Maintenance requirements. The shift pattern is an 8hr double days Mon – Fri 6-2 & 2-10 with the 3rd week on days 8-4 Wed – Sun & on call for that week.

About the Site: Located in Gloucestershire, the Cam site transforms natural Acacia Gum into high-quality powdered ingredients used in a wide range of food and beverage applications worldwide. What will you be doing:
- When Production Focused - The role is expected to be predominantly based on the line during production hours, undertaking reactive maintenance, supporting changeovers, attending daily meetings and supporting production when required.
- When Planned Maintenance focused – the role is expected to be based within engineering undertaking planned maintenance, attending the daily engineering meeting, working closely with stores function and Maintenance Planner.
You will be competent in both mechanical and electrical systems, able to diagnose and resolve simple and complex breakdowns.
What can you bring to the role:
- Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent.
- Multi-skilled / cross-skilled capability.
- Minimum NVQ level 3 BTEC ONC / City and Guilds or equivalent in engineering discipline.
- Aptitude for process awareness.
- Strong diagnostic / trouble-shooting experience gained in a Hi-volume manufacturing or process environment.
- Strong knowledge & experience of manufacturing electro/mechanical automated equipment & processes including pneumatic, hydraulic and instrumentation-controlled systems.
- Proficient with Computers.
- Familiar with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems SAP.
- 5 years manufacturing, packaging and processing experiences. Food industry experience would be a bonus.
- PLC programming or diagnostics would be a bonus.
- Knowledge & experience with facilities plant, Boilers (steam or Hot water), refrigeration, air handling, effluent treatments plants.
