About the role
Our Norwich, NY location is part of our Applied Health and Nutrition Division and one of our specialty sites that creates proteins, lactose, coatings, and flavors. The location lies within Chenango County and is advantageously located within a 50-mile radius of the major cities of Binghamton, Syracuse, Utica, Cooperstown and Oneonta.
$21.00/hr
SHIFT: Mon- Fri 6:15am-245pm occasional weekends and shift flexibility is required
The wage for this role is $21.00 per hour. This position may also be eligible for a shift differential and/or overtime. In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements).
Key responsibilities
Responsible for the operation and basic maintenance of any equipment needed:
- Dry blenders and packaging operations
- Coatings
- Meat tenderizer line operations
- Lubritose
- Hold a forklift truck license and operate equipment safely and efficiently
- Responsible for batch makeup, finished product production and packaging
- Complete warehousing procedures for raw materials, finished products and package pieces
- Safely move packages up to 1200# with equipment provided
- Manually move/dump up to 55# packages at a rate of 1500# per hour
- Proficient with calculator
- Use computer for data entry in Excel, Word and control equipment
- Proficient in SAP system and train others
- Handle hazardous waste (internal training provided)
- Responsible for staging material
Qualifications and skills
What you\'ll need to be successful and safe:
- Write clearly and legibly
- Read and understand written instructions from supervisor or group leader
- Strict adherence to company policies while using common sense for daily decisions
- Adjust work schedule to department requirements
- Understand overtime may be required to complete batch or batching sequence
- Working knowledge of computer systems: IBM, Windows, Excel, Word, e-mail (or be trained)
- HSD/GED preferred
- 2-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
