Working within the Reward team, the Payroll Administrator will support the delivery of the payroll for the various legal entities in Klipboard. As the payroll administrator, you will play a crucial role in managing and administering payroll and pension processes. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, compliance with statutory regulations, and efficient administration of pension schemes. This role requires a deep understanding of UK payroll and pension regulations, strong attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:- Arrange the monthly payment of staff salaries through the computerised payroll system involving the collation and input of all relevant information including new starters, leavers, contract changes, sickness absence payments, maternity, and paternity pay.
- Administer the Statutory Sick Pay (SSP), Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP), and Statutory Paternity Pay (SPP) schemes and advise staff on these schemes.
- Conduct monthly reconciliations of the payroll for review.
- Provide advice to staff in relation to pay, taxation and National Insurance.
- Ensure manual and computerised records are accurately maintained.
- Arrange the administration of benefits schemes such as pensions and childcare vouchers.
- Calculate pay raises, shift payments and overtime compensation.
- Ensure the reconciliation of payroll to report accurately to HMRC and pensions providers.
- Ensure relevant audits and exception reports are investigated and any issues resolved.
- Assist with any pay or pensions related audits (for example PAYE Inspections).
- Keep up to date with pay and pension related legislation.
- Act as a point of contact for our pension providers.
- Provide reporting and analysis on an ad-hoc basis as required.
- Strong numeracy and high attention to detail.
- Competence with and experience of payroll systems and procedures.
- A strong eye for detail with an innate desire for accuracy.
- Proficient in effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to take responsibility for own work.
- Ability to maintain absolute discretion and maturity in handling sensitive/confidential data.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet tight deadlines.
- High standards of work and performance.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite to include intermediate Excel skills (Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, etc.).
- Effective team player with a ‘can do’ attitude.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
