About us Kernow Mixers Limited is a haulage contractor and builders merchant. We have an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to drive our 6 wheeler grab lorry. This role consists of collecting waste material from building sites and domestic properties using a grab operated Hiab vehicle. You will be generally working alone, so good initiative and the ability to work safely while following company and site rules and procedures are paramount.

You will be paid £14 per hour on a 45 hour week contract with overtime available regularly, along with an added bonus for every muck away load completed. Experience is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided, and a crane certified competency issued which is recognised nationally. Full PPE is provided, and there is free on-site parking. You will receive 20 days holiday plus bank holidays annually paid.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive a HGV Class 2 vehicle to transport goods to and from different locations
  • Follow all safety regulations and company policies and procedures
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries and pickups
  • Communicate effectively with the dispatcher and other team members
  • Handle goods carefully and ensure they are secured properly

Requirements:

  • Valid HGV Class 2 license
  • Minimum of 1 year experience driving heavy goods vehicles
  • Good driving record with no major violations or accidents
  • Ability to read and follow GPS and other navigational systems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Flexibility to work weekends and nights if required
  • Physically fit and able to handle heavy loads
  • Grab / Hiab experience
