We are seeking experienced and motivated Phlebotomists to join our Staff Bank to support GP practices across Cornwall. Working on a flexible, as-needed basis, you will play a key role in delivering safe, effective blood sample collection services, contributing to timely diagnosis and ongoing patient care. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team within different practice settings, adapting to local systems and processes while maintaining high clinical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venepuncture in line with clinical guidelines and best practice
- Ensure patient comfort, dignity, and reassurance throughout procedures
- Confirm patient identity and obtain informed consent
- Label, store, and prepare samples accurately for laboratory testing
- Ensure samples are dispatched promptly in line with protocols
- Maintain accurate clinical records in clinical systems
- Follow infection prevention and control procedures at all times
- Report clinical concerns or anomalies appropriately
- Work collaboratively with teams to support service delivery
What We're Looking For
- Recognised training/qualification in phlebotomy
- Previous experience in a primary care or similar setting
