Summary

About Rame Group Practice:

Rame Group Practice is a busy, friendly, and forward-thinking GP practice serving the Torpoint and Rame Peninsula community. We are a practice that genuinely cares about our patients, and equally about the people who work with us. Our team is close-knit, enthusiastic, and proud of what we do together.

Over recent years we have built a successful and expanding clinical research programme, participating in a range of NIHR-funded and commercial trials that give our patients access to cutting-edge treatments while contributing to the evidence base that shapes future NHS care. We are proud to hold CRDC (Commercial Research Delivery Centre) host status and are part of a wider primary care research network with an established track record of delivering research to the highest standards. We have mentored other neighbouring practices into successful research sites.

Our dedicated research team currently comprises four doctors, three nurses, a Healthcare Assistant, a co-ordinator and a dietitian. We are a strong, experienced group with a genuine team spirit. We are now looking to expand that team further, and within the next year we will be moving into new, purpose-built enlarged premises that will significantly increase our research capacity and the range of studies we are able to offer.

This is a genuinely exciting time to join us. You will be part of a growing team at the start of a new chapter, with real opportunity to shape how research develops at Rame as we move into our new premises.

The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring nurse to join our research team as a Primary Care Clinical Research Nurse. You will work directly with our patients to deliver a range of clinical trials, playing a hands‑on role in supporting people through their research journey from first contact and consent right through to study completion.

This role offers something genuinely different. As well as the day-to-day satisfaction of working in a supportive practice environment, you will have the opportunity to attend investigator meetings and study-related events including occasional travel abroad giving you a broader perspective on how research is shaped and delivered internationally.

We are completely open to applications from nurses who are new to research. What matters most to us is the kind of person you are; your personality, your curiosity, your commitment to patients, competency and your ability to work as part of a team. Full training and ongoing support will be provided, and we will invest in your development from day one.

Working Arrangements & Additional Information

  • This post is 30-37 hours per week. Friday working is required; the remaining days are flexible and can be arranged to suit the right candidate.
  • You will be based at Rame Group Practice in Torpoint and may occasionally visit associated sites.
  • The post is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory pre-employment checks in accordance with NHS policy.
  • The post-holder will be expected to maintain current NMC registration and complete mandatory training and GCP certification on appointment.
