We are looking for a cheerful, conscientious and adaptable person to join our team. The HCA will collaborate with clinical staff in the provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion, long-term condition management and patient education. Aim to meet the nationally agreed targets for health as agreed in the GMS contract. Assist with the delivery and provision of high-quality primary health care services, for the health and wellbeing of patients at the practice, including clinical and administrative tasks.
The HCA works within the organisation and supports the clinical, practice nursing and administrative teams in the delivery of clinical and administrative services. This role involves working as part of the practice multi-disciplinary team, delivering care within their scope of practice to the entitled patient population. Having completed the NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care, or an equivalent qualification, the HCA will deliver and assist clinical staff in the provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion, long-term condition management and patient education while also supporting the administrative team on an as-required basis. The HCA will work under the supervision of a registered clinician while developing competencies in community-based care. The role is at Support Worker Level and as described in NHS E Primary Care and General Practice Nursing Career and Core Capabilities Framework. The post-holder will be an integral part of the general practice team.
Qualifications: Applicants should possess the appropriate qualifications of NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent. Previous experience in general practice would be advantageous. Excellent communication skills and a confident manner, common sense, a willingness to learn, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential attributes of any applicants.
