Salary up to £65,000 DOE and relocation allowance up to £2,000. Kernow Vets are looking for an experienced and confident Farm Veterinary Surgeon to join our welcoming and supportive team. Typical responsibilities and areas of work:
- TB testing
- Routine and preventative work
- Herd health planning
- Emergency care and authorising dispensaries
- Regular client discussions to build strong, trusted relationships
- Artificial insemination, predominantly in cattle
- Work with clients ranging from smallholdings to large commercial units, primarily beef and sheep, with some dairy, pigs and occasional alpaca
- Ambulatory work with on-farm activity and access to facilities at our practices as needed
Requirements / qualifications:
- Full driving licence essential
- Ambulatory role with vehicle, mobile phone and laptop provided
- TB testing qualification is essential
- Ability to work in sole charge, manage on-call responsibilities and carry out daytime visits and emergency work
Work pattern and contract:
- Full-time role, 40 hours per week across four 10-hour days from 8:30am to 6:30pm
- Out-of-hours commitments shared on a 1 in 4 rota, and 1 in 4 weekends, reducing slightly during quieter summer months
- 12-month fixed-term contract

A dedicated TB testing team of three, seven Farm Veterinary Surgeons, ACA, vet tech and a supportive client care team help create a collaborative environment. Based in Bodmin, Cornwall, the role offers access to rolling countryside and coastal areas nearby.
