As the Warehouse & Cellar Manager, you will be at the heart of KERB’s warehouse operations, supporting KERB Events Ltd ensuring the warehouse runs smoothly, from managing stock and floor operations to leading a small team of freelance/agency staff and keeping everything clean, organised, and compliant. You will plan and allocate tasks for the week ahead, oversee staff breaks and handovers, and maintain high standards across warehouse systems and SOPs.
What you’ll be doing
- Warehouse & Floor Operations
- Take ownership of the warehouse floor, ensuring smooth, efficient workflows.
- Run day-to-day operations including staff breaks, handovers (EOD), and team meetings.
- Allocate tasks and plan the week ahead, assigning team members to specific jobs.
- Manage warehouse cleanliness and internal maintenance, including allocating duties (e.g., toilets, tidying).
- Team Management
- Support the Warehouse & Logistics Manager to train and maintain a team of warehouse freelancers, positively contributing to KERB’s culture and standards.
- Lead a team of seasonal freelance warehouse operators, monitor performance, provide guidance, and maintain team morale.
- Implement and review SOPs with the internal team.
- Stock & Systems Management
- Oversee picking, packing, and processing of stock, ensuring accuracy, quality, and speed.
- Conduct quality checks on goods and equipment before dispatch.
- Maintain up-to-date stock inventories and warehouse systems.
- Manage stock ordering and stock levels, ensuring cost control measures are in place.
- Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all warehouse health and safety standards are maintained.
- Conduct daily / weekly H&S checks and assist if required with creating and maintaining event safety systems.
- Ensure compliance standards are maintained across the warehouse, including team training.
- Work closely with the KERB Events H&S Management Team to uphold best practices.
- Ensure the Warehouse is always kept clean and tidy.
- Reporting & Communication
- Communicate effectively with the Warehouse & Logistics Manager and other stakeholders.
- Support the Warehouse & Logistics Manager by taking ownership of floor operations, allowing them to focus on admin.
What you’ll bring to KERB
- Essential
- Full, clean driving licence and confident driving of large vehicles (up to Luton Vans / 3.5T).
- Strong understanding of health & safety, including RAMS/COSHH, and ability to enforce safe working practices.
- Experience in events, hospitality, or a similar fast-paced, operational environment.
- Proactive, hands‑on, self‑starter with a take‑ownership mentality.
- Excellent people skills – able to lead and motivate a small team, communicate with clients, traders, and colleagues clearly and confidently.
- Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences and situations.
- Experience in logistics or warehouse operations management.
- Positive, flexible, problem‑solving mindset; comfortable working under pressure and managing competing priorities.
- Able to make decisions on the floor independently while escalating issues appropriately.
- Previous experience of managing stock and operating stock management systems.
- Forklift licence or similar equipment‑handling certifications.

- Experience using warehouse or booking systems.
- Demonstratable experience working in a warehouse environment, ideally with seasonal peaks.
- 1+ years’ experience managing a warehouse or logistics team.
- Background in hospitality/events warehousing and stock returns management.
