As a rapidly growing business, we are hiring for a new and exciting venue concept in the heart of Spitalfields Market, and as such, our bars must have a strong leadership team to capitalize on excellent service and fluid revenue streams. Your role will include assisting the venue management team with stock control, for example; regular inventory checks, counting, ordering, distribution and correct storage.

You will be the person that keeps the rest of the bar team happy and on task; ensuring they have the necessary tools, briefing, stock and skill sets to deliver the level of experience one would expect from an international business re‑defining the team “Exceptional Hospitality”. Cleanliness and safe hygiene standards in line with health and safety requirements are a core focus for this role. You’ll be expected to communicate regularly with the GM on bar operations and will oversee the operations of the bars in the absence of the AGM or GM.

To summarise, the role of the Bar Supervisor is to work closely with the management team and the wider team to deliver Exceptional Hospitality and Brilliant Food & Drinks Only.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Oversee and provide guidance to your team, ensuring they understand their responsibilities and complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure that cleaning mandates are followed on a daily basis, upholding the cleanliness standards of the bar and exceeding that of EHO standards.
  • Assist bartenders with tasks such as preparing garnishes, mixing ingredients, and pouring drinks as directed.
  • Provide excellent customer service by promptly fulfilling customer orders and anticipating their needs.
  • Assist in setting up the bar before service and closing it down at the end of the shift.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and alcohol service laws, including checking the identification of customers to verify age.
  • Assist in the training of new staff and ensure they are familiar with the bar's procedures and standards.
  • Have a knowledge and love of KERB – our history, what we represent and what we do.
  • Possess excellent people skills, able to communicate confidently with staff, guests and traders.
  • Keep a positive and flexible attitude, with the ability to think laterally and a willingness to problem-solve.
  • Have an eye for detail and use initiative to keep the venue looking and feeling great.
  • Possess a love of brilliant food and drink; you will be surrounded by it.
  • Be keen to work in a busy Central London spot, with regular events throughout the year.
  • Act as an ambassador for KERB and the venue – take pride in what you do and set an example for others!

What you’ll bring to KERB:

  • A strong focus on organisation and team building.
  • Ability to work to strict timescales and clean as you go.
  • Customer service focused and must have experience in busy and high‑volume hospitality establishments.
  • A problem‑solver.
  • Excellent skills in building relationships.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and set achievable objectives.
  • Positive and flexible attitude, willing to roll sleeves up and get stuck in.
  • Cocktail, spirits, beer & wine knowledge.
  • Being a Personal License Holder would be a bonus.
  • Extensive knowledge of operating bars and what good service looks like.
  • Whilst not required, it would be beneficial to have an understanding of commercials and product margins, being able to read a P&L is a plus.
  • Adept inventory management skills.
