As a Bartender at Dreamland, reporting to the management team, you will play a key role in delivering outstanding hospitality by serving a diverse selection of drinks from independent brewers and businesses. You’ll be mixing, pouring, chatting, and making sure every guest leaves with an experience to remember - all in the name of ‘Exceptional Hospitality’.
What you'll be doing:
- Providing exceptional service to guests, answering queries and escalating issues to line manager when necessary.
- Taking direction from senior members while working independently and maintaining a calm professional approach.
- Working the bar, pouring drinks, basic cocktails knowledge (to be taught) and coffee making.
- Supporting bar set‑up for opening – chopping fruit, placing candles, final clean‑down.
- Cleaning up and resetting for the following day – waste removal, glass washing, switching off electrical items, rotating stock.
- Maintaining knowledge of Dreamland’s food and beverage offering and making suggestions to guests.
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and alcohol service laws, including checking ID.
What you'll bring:
- Excellent people skills, confidently talking to guests and traders.
- Eye for spotting upselling opportunities.
- Positive, flexible attitude with lateral thinking and willingness to problem‑solve.
- Experience using tablet‑based till systems (Goodtill).
- Aware of licensing objectives.
- Love of brilliant food and drink.
- Availability to work weekends and evenings.
- 1–2 years experience in bartending (deal‑breaker not required).
- Great knowledge of beers, wines & spirits; cocktail and coffee experience a bonus.
