KERB Events Limited provides our services at many live events, including at venues such as Natural History Museum, Roundhouse, Old Billingsgate, and Drumsheds.

Reporting to the KERB Events Operations Managers / Head of Operations, you will be responsible for managing the operational needs and successful running of a range of events across a variety of venues across London on a freelance basis. This role is well-suited to someone who is hungry to get involved with KERB, with a keen eye for detail, good communication skills, understanding Health & Safety principles, and previous experience of operating & managing large scale events with multiple stakeholders. We need passionate, enthusiastic team players to deliver excellent experiences for our guests, traders and the client.
The role encompasses ensuring the day-to-day operation runs smoothly, working with the KERB team, Trader Membership and site teams to ensure all health and safety practices are implemented fully. Stakeholder management, quality control (this includes eating!) and customer engagement all feature prominently. A grasp of the street food world and previous experience working on a stall is a big plus. We need a can-do character with the ambition and expertise to push our events to a new level.
What you'll be doing:
- Managing the dynamic of client, venue and production teams interests onsite, to deliver a smooth operation as well as exceptional hospitality, and being the conduit between all stakeholders and KERB traders and staff.
- Delivering team briefing for agency staff, allocating team members to job roles and responsibilities, being their point of contact and ensuring staff welfare is delivered throughout.
- Performing H&S checks on our bars and food traders to ensure they are meeting KERB standards.
- Overseeing load ins/outs of the traders and bars, being physically present to support.
- Managing the onsite bars, stock control and people management.
- Focusing on the guest experience and developing ways to enhance this.
- Adhering to the venue and KERB's procedures and rules, whilst maintaining clear communication at all times.
- Admin including post-event debrief report, stock counts, and staffing timesheets with comments if applicable.
What you'll bring to KERB:
- Able to travel to necessary locations within the Midlands.
- Understanding of safe heavy lifting practices.
- A clear and detailed understanding of UK health and safety practices.
- Able to define and deliver exceptional hospitality and service.
- Able to identify increased sales opportunities across the site.
- Demonstrable operational knowledge of electricity, gas and foodservice operations and troubleshooting.
- Experience in bar and stock management.
- Strong people management skills, working with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver the best outcome for KERB, its traders, customers and the team.
- Proactive / self-starter able to focus and operate as part of a team and independently.
- An interest and understanding of the street food industry and wider food scene of The Midlands.
- Strong understanding of EPOS/till setup and management - we use GoodTill.
- Positive and flexible attitude, with the ability to think laterally and able to problem-solve.
Desired but not essential:
- Experience in street food events and/or bars and events would be preferred.
