About The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic experienced Senior Architect to lead the delivery of a major part of a nationally significant flagship healthcare project. This role focuses on technical design and on-site delivery across RIBA Stages 4 and 5, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and well-coordinated outcomes. Utilising systems, techniques, documentation and materials in line with the company's Design Management guidelines to maintain high quality and consistency of information production. They will ensure compliance with all relevant Technical and British Standards, CDM 2015 Regulations, and where relevant to the project – the Building Safety Act 2022.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal role on a complex, high-impact project within a collaborative and design-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- This role is key to ensuring the rigorous application of current design techniques and technology in the production of architectural design and detailed information for each project.
- You will be leading and managing an architectural team focused on developing, coordinating and reviewing detailed design and construction information through RIBA stages 4 and 5 as part of a wider integrated project team.
- You will maintain quality control of drawing packages, specifications and technical submissions.
- You will have an in-depth understanding of current design and construction techniques, Technical Standards, Building Regulations, British Standards and other legislative requirements applicable to deliverables for healthcare standards.
- You will be the primary point of contact for clients, consultants and contractors within the technical and construction phases, coordinating the architectural design with MEP, structural and specialist teams.
- You will be required to support contract administration duties, responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals and attending site resolving technical issues as they arise.
- The Candidate will also have a key involvement with assisting with the development and progression of architectural knowledge and systems across the company and will be encouraged to participate in the mentoring of our architectural assistants.
Skills and Experience
- 5 – 10 years or more post part 3 qualification experience.
- Proven track record of delivering projects through RIBA stages 4 and 5.
- Experience of working on healthcare projects would be an advantage.
- Portfolio demonstrating strong technical experience, detailing and work package production at construction stages.
- A working knowledge of Revit is essential.
- Understanding and experience in working to BIM level 2 standards in a collaborative project environment.
- Confident attending/presenting at client meetings.
- Highly organized with recognised ability to work well under pressure.
- Knowledge of Healthcare Technical Memoranda (HTMs/SHTMs) and Health Building Notes (HBNs) and Scottish Health Facilities Notes (SHFNs) are desirable but not essential.
- Experience in contract administration including NEC contracts is desirable.
- Proactive and passionate about delivering high quality solutions.
