Are you a detail-driven compliance professional ready to take ownership of quality and product safety across a growing consumer goods portfolio? We’re looking for an experienced Quality & Product Compliance Manager to join our operations and technical team — ensuring our products meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across UK supermarkets, major retailers, and online marketplaces.
About the Role
As our in-house Quality & Product Compliance Manager, you’ll lead all aspects of product compliance, testing, and quality assurance from concept through to launch. You’ll work closely with buying, design, and operations teams, managing suppliers, test houses, and certification bodies to ensure every product is safe, compliant, and retail-ready. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical knowledge, meticulous attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do
- Ensure all products meet UKCA/CE marking and comply with UK & EU legislation (Toy Safety, EMC, LVD, RoHS, REACH).
- Maintain and manage technical files, declarations of conformity, and compliance documentation.
- Oversee product testing, inspection, and certification with accredited laboratories.
- Support supplier quality development and internal Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Review and approve packaging, labelling, and user manuals for compliance accuracy.
- Lead non-conformance investigations and CAPA programmes to drive improvement.
- Ensure retailer and marketplace compliance (Amazon, Argos, Tesco, etc.).
- Deliver internal training and compliance awareness sessions.
Success in this role: On-time product launches, zero major non-conformities, and best-in-class compliance performance.
About You
You’re a technically competent, analytical professional who thrives on precision and integrity. You enjoy working cross-functionally to ensure every product meets the highest safety and quality benchmarks — from design through delivery.
What You’ll Bring
- Essential: Proven experience in quality, technical, or compliance management within consumer goods, toys, or electronics.
- Strong knowledge of UK/EU safety legislation (EN71, LVD, EMC, RoHS, REACH, UKCA/CE).
- Hands-on experience with testing, certification, and supplier QA.
- Excellent communication skills with retailers, suppliers, and test houses.
- Experience liaising with Trading Standards and overseas factories.
- Highly organised, methodical, and detail focused.
- Desirable: Degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or related field.
- ISO certification (e.g. ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, ISO 13485).
- Six Sigma Green/Black Belt or ASQ Certified Quality Manager.
- ICA Diploma in Compliance or similar qualification.
- Familiarity with international standards (ASTM F963, CPSIA).
- Experience using retailer compliance portals (Tesco, Asda, Amazon).
- Proven record leading recalls or CAPA programmes.
