We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytically driven Inventory and Demand Planner to join our expanding team. This dual-focused role will be responsible for optimizing inventory levels and forecasting product demand across all retail and wholesale channels. You’ll ensure products are available at the right time and in the right quantities, minimizing stockouts and excess inventory.
You will collaborate cross-functionally with the buying, commercial, and operations teams to align planning with business strategy—leveraging data, tools, and systems to enhance supply chain efficiency and drive commercial results.
- Develop and maintain accurate SKU-level demand forecasts using historical sales data, trends, seasonality, and promotional insights.
- Participate in monthly S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) meetings to align demand forecasts with commercial and supply plans.
- Forecast demand for new product launches, promotions, and key trading events.
- Optimize inventory turnover and working capital through intelligent stock classification (A/B/C) and replenishment strategies.
- Collaborate with procurement to ensure purchase orders align with forecasts, lead times, and sales expectations.
- Perform regular inventory reviews and aged stock analysis to recommend action plans.
- Conduct variance analysis and root-cause reviews.
- Generate regular reports on stock health, inventory turns, aged inventory, and service levels.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to reduce excess inventory and improve fill rates.
- Maintain accurate product master data in ERP systems including costs, attributes, and mappings.
- Drive automation and system improvements to enhance forecasting and planning capabilities.
- Work closely with IT to support planning tool enhancements and dashboard development.
- Liaise with Buyers, Category Managers, Finance, and Commercial teams to ensure plans support revenue and margin targets.
- Communicate demand risks, stock constraints, and planning changes clearly to stakeholders.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in inventory planning, demand forecasting, or supply chain planning in FMCG, retail, or distribution.
- Warehouse experience preferred but not essential.
- Strong Excel skills; SAP, NetSuite, Dynamics.
- Experience with demand planning or inventory tools (e.g., Anaplan, SAP APO) or BI dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
- Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or a related field (preferred).
