Responsibilities
- Originate and execute physical transactions across copper, aluminium, zinc, lead, and nickel.
- Expand the desk's counterparty coverage by securing new business from producers, smelters, consumers, and trading houses.
- Structure transactions across the full deal lifecycle, from origination through execution, logistics, and settlement, maintaining disciplined risk management throughout.
- Contribute to the desk's broader commercial strategy in close collaboration with analytics, operations, and risk functions.
- Anticipate market developments and position the book accordingly.
Requirements
- A demonstrated track record of building and growing a physical metals trading business, with clear P&L accountability and sustained profitability.
- Comprehensive understanding of the drivers of physical trading margins, including premiums, freight, financing, and quality differentials.
- An active and well-maintained network across the mining, smelting, consumer, and trading community.
- The capacity to operate with a high degree of autonomy and commercial independence.
