The predicted salary is between 37900 - 44962 Β£ per year.

We are seeking to recruit a 4-8 session salaried GP to join our busy, friendly and highly supportive practice in Houghton le Spring.

The practice has excellent transport links to Sunderland, Durham, Newcastle and surrounding areas.

Our practice prides itself on delivering quality patient care, reflected in consistently positive patient feedback.

This is underpinned by a strong team ethos, where collaboration, mutual respect and support for all staff are paramount.

We are an established training practice, actively involved in the education and development of Doctors in Training (Di Ts), medical students and nursing students.

We are committed to supporting professional growth and actively encourage ongoing learning and development across the multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centred medical care to the practice population.
  • Provide services in accordance with the GMS contract and associated regulatory requirements.
  • Prescribe medicines appropriately, adhering to local and national prescribing guidelines and formularies.
  • Manage patients with long-term conditions effectively and proactively.
  • Complete administrative tasks in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests, test results, and associated correspondence.
  • Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records in line with professional standards, practice policy, and current guidance.
  • Work collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary team, contributing fairly to the overall practice workload.
  • Adhere to best practice as guided by clinical evidence, national guidelines, and the practice audit programme.
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives and service development within the practice.
  • Attend and contribute effectively to practice, clinical, and multidisciplinary team meetings as required.

Kepier Medical Practice is a well-established, patient-focused GP practice located in Houghton-le-Spring. Rated

Good by the CQC, we provide high-quality primary care services to approximately

8,500 patients .

Our experienced clinical team consists of

3 GP Partners, 3 Salaried GPs, and 2 Nurse Practitioners , supported by an extended multidisciplinary team including

2 Practice Nurses, a Student Nursing Associate, and a Healthcare Support Worker . We also benefit from a dedicated team of approximately

20 administrative and support staff , alongside in-house

Practice Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, a Mental Health Practitioner, and Social Prescribers .

The practice has a low home visit rate and is supported by the Sunderland Recovery at Home Team.

  • Job responsibilities
  • A normal working day consists of 25 appointments plus all associated paperwork.
  • Review and action of test results.
  • Action and completion of tasks/paperwork for your review.
  • Support amongst the wider practice team as appropriate to role.

  • Support the Partners in achieving the strategic objectives of the practice, identifying opportunities to enhance services, improve efficiency, and support financial sustainability.
  • Review and adhere to all practice policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Promote collaborative working by maintaining effective communication with colleagues and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant clinical governance, safeguarding, information governance, and health and safety requirements.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Qualified GP
  • MRCGP
  • General Practitioner Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT)
  • Full GMC registration
  • National Performers List registration
  • Eligibility to practice in the UK independently

Experience

  • Experience of working in a GP Practice
  • Disclosure and Barring Service Check
