Kepak is a global food company serving international retailers and food service household names with prime cuts of meat, on-trend food concepts and ready-for-market convenience foods. Kepak St. Merryn in Bodmin has combined beef and lamb processing and packing facilities. We offer beef products ranging from retail ready cuts for butchers’ counters to branded packaged meat, all as part of our service; raised on open pastures, sourced from local farmers and hand-selected by our master butchers, we produce beef products with integrity and unmatched quality assurance.

This is a full time permanent position starting at 6.30am with a flexible finish and an hourly salary of £12.75. You will be working within our slaughtering area performing precision functions involving the preparation of meat. Work may include specialized slaughtering tasks, cutting standard or premium cuts of meat for marketing. The slaughter and preparation of animals for human consumption. Your own transport is required due to our location and the times of Public transport links to Bodmin.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain various machinery and equipment necessary for the production process.
  • Monitor and maintain product quality standards throughout the production line.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct regular inspections of machinery and promptly report any issues or malfunctions.
  • Assist in the packaging and labelling of finished products according to company standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to uphold the highest level of hygiene and quality.
  • Be able to lift weights and move around the factory floor without assistance for the shift duration.
  • Be familiar with the daily production plan and work as part of the team to set up the line, complete checks and ensure materials are ready to use.
  • Other duties will be part of the role from time to time – this will be specified by your direct line Supervisor.

Previous experience in a similar role within the food production industry is advantageous. Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment. Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure. Understanding of and commitment to following health and safety regulations. Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects as required. Effective communication and teamwork skills to interact with colleagues and supervisors.
