Job Description: Kepak is a global food company serving international retailers and food service household names with prime cuts of meat, on-trend food concepts, and ready-for-market convenience foods. Kepak St. Merryn in Merthyr Tydfil has combined beef and lamb processing and packing facilities. We offer beef and lamb products ranging from retail-ready cuts for butchers\’ counters to branded packaged meat, all as part of our service; raised on open pastures, sourced from local farmers, and hand-selected by our master butchers. We produce beef and lamb products with integrity and unmatched quality assurance.
We are excited to be recruiting for a Security Guard to work in our busy manufacturing site in Merthyr. This is a full-time, permanent position reporting to the Security Manager. The hours are full-time, working both days and nights, 7am/7pm to 7pm/7am – 12 hour shifts, 4 on/4 off.
Role Purpose
Responsible for site security, being the first point of contact for staff and visitors, ensuring safety and security of the premises.
Essential Requirements
- Experience working in a security role in an industrial environment preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of animal welfare preferred.
- SIA Licence preferable, but not essential.
- Flexible approach to working and committed to working night and day shifts and weekends, on a rotational basis.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Polite and professional attitude towards internal and external guests.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Capable of making sound business suggestions.
- Ability to work effectively and confidently under pressure.
- Commitment to good practice and quality products.
- Fluent in English, with good written and oral communication skills for multi-national interactions.
