Job Purpose:
- Responsible for ensuring food safety and quality systems comply with regulatory, customer, and internal standards, supporting audit readiness, risk management, and continuous improvement to protect brand integrity and food safety.
- Actively support a positive safety culture, identifying and reporting potential risks, and maintaining safe working practices at all times.
- In conjunction with the Food Safety and Compliance Manager, monitor and manage site food safety and quality systems.
- Support the maintenance of the site compliance framework, policies, and procedures, ensuring alignment with legislation, customer and internal standards.
- Provide administrative support to the food safety and compliance team to ensure efficient and accurate processing of documentation.
- Provide technical support with corrective and preventative actions that protect product integrity and brand reputation.
- Conduct internal and GMP audits at the site, prepare for third-party, customer and regulatory audits, and assist with consistent audit readiness to achieve successful outcomes in regulatory inspections.
- Update and maintain food safety scorecards to monitor food safety compliance and track performance.
- Promote positive, constructive engagement across site teams and wider business functions to monitor and manage food safety compliance.

ROLE QUALIFICATION & SKILLS:
- Qualifications in Food Science, Food Technology or equivalent is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP, TACCP, BRCGS and customer standards and UK/EU regulatory frameworks.
- Level 3 HACCP preferred.
- Internal audit qualification.
- Knowledge of animal welfare standards.
- Experience in assisting with audits and liaising with external stakeholders including customers, auditors and regulatory authorities.
- Experience in quality management systems within food manufacturing.
- Proven experience in food safety compliance, customer standards and audit management.
- Experience integrating customer standards into processes and managing regulatory changes.
