Kepak McIntosh Donald are a globally recognised brand and the largest red meat producer in Scotland; raised on open pastures, sourced from local farmers and hand-selected by our master butchers, we produce beef and lamb products with integrity and unmatched quality assurance.
Working Hours: 40h/week, Monday to Friday, 6am (flexible with finishing times).
Job Purpose: Responsible for packing red meat for sale and consumption in accordance with client specifications/orders and Company SOPs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify individual vacuum-packed cuts and place them into specified containers/boxes.
- Recognise different cuts of meat that legally must be weighed and labelled correctly.
- Place trays/boxes on correct pallets to customer specification.
- Recognise and place selected cuts into correct customer-specified bags at variable line speeds.
- Selection of beef quarters by date and category that are pushed along rails to input scale.
- Straighten pre-pack bags that are already on production line.
- Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner to meet daily targets.
- Perform all prestart, hygiene and safety checks as instructed.
Skills/Experience:
- Previous experience working in a high-volume meat processing factory is highly beneficial.
- Able to work in a chilled environment.
- Manual handling ability and awareness.
- Able to communicate well in English in written and oral form with multi-nationals at all levels.
- Flexibility to meet daily production targets.
- Consistent approach and strong work ethic.
- Able to work under own initiative and as part of a team.
- Adaptable to change and production demands.
