Join our dynamic team at New World Foods (part of Kepak Group) in York as a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer! This full‑time, permanent role is all about ensuring our onsite equipment runs smoothly. As a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you'll collaborate across different departments, work closely with the production team, mentor an apprentice, and engage with a variety of suppliers.

This position will require a certain level of flexibility working across Monday – Friday with occasional weekends. Rotating shifts are: 6 am – 2 pm and 2 pm – 10 pm.

Main Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot Electrical and Mechanical issues on production lines
  • Repair electro‑mechanical PLC‑controlled equipment and manage pneumatic/hydraulic systems
  • Provide technical support for plant facilities, including air, refrigeration, and steam systems
  • Perform Preventive & Predictive Maintenance routines
  • Monitor line and machine performance
  • Collaborate with suppliers on new equipment installations and modifications
  • Maintain cleanliness in work and transit areas
  • Engage in training and development for job‑related skills
  • Update maintenance management system (CMMS) and record all maintenance activities

Requirements

  • Electrical Trades qualification, mechanical experience would be an advantage
  • Previous experience in a similar Multi‑Skilled role, ideally within a Food manufacturing or FMCG environment
  • Strong diagnostic/root cause analysis skills
  • Participation as team member and willing to work on own initiative
