Kepak St. Merryn in Merthyr Tydfil has combined beef and lamb processing and packing facilities. We offer beef and lamb products ranging from retail ready cuts for butchers’ counters to branded packaged meat, all as part of our service; raised on open pastures, sourced from local farmers and hand-selected by our master butchers, we produce beef and lamb products with integrity and unmatched quality assurance.

We are currently recruiting for a Packing Supervisor to work in our Beef Boning Department in Kepak, Merthyr Tydfil. This is a full time, permanent position working from 6.00am - Monday to Friday.

Role Purpose: Responsible for all Packing Hall Operatives ensuring consistency and compliance to packing in accordance with client specifications and Company SOP’s. Ensuring the smooth running of the production process while creating positive employee relations. Responsible for maintaining the pace of the production line in a clean and hygienic environment.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate and monitor compliance to Company’s PPE requirements, knife safety requirements, hygiene and quality standards, department SOP’s and customer specifications.
  • Maintain superior understanding and knowledge of customer specifications.
  • Roll out specification/task changes and/or new customer requirements to all Packing Hall Operatives ensuring full understanding and compliance.
  • Allocate team resources accordingly to ensure required staffing levels to meet daily production targets.
  • Completing assigned tasks in a timely manner to meet daily targets.
  • Ensure product is of the highest standard, reporting any issues to the Manager immediately.
  • Familiar with daily production plan, working with team to set up line, completing relevant checks and ensuring materials are ready to use.
