Our Merthyr site is currently seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our friendly, passionate team. We are currently seeking Lairage Operators to safeguard the livestock. This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday - 6.00am to Finish with a salary of £12.40 per hour.
Duties:
- Safeguard the wellbeing of livestock
- Move livestock to secure holding pens causing minimal stress
- Keep the abattoir serviced with livestock
- Keep the lairage facilities clean and tidy
- Adhere to Company hygiene practices & animal welfare procedures
- Comply with health & safety rules, to prevent/minimise the risk of accidents
- Participate in training, in accordance with your personal training plan
- Carry out any additional duties that may be reasonably requested by the manager
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial but full training will be given for inexperienced people keen to learn the trade
- Good attention to detail
- Able to use own initiative
- Self-motivated
- Able to work as part of a team
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills
- Experience with livestock, desirable but not a requirement
- Certificate of competence certified, desirable but not a requirement
