Kepak is a global food company serving international retailers and food service household names with prime cuts of meat, on-trend food concepts and ready‑for‑market convenience foods. Kepak St. Merryn in Bodmin is a beef processing facility. We offer beef products ranging from retail ready cuts for butchers’ counters to branded packaged meat, all as part of our service; raised on open pastures, sourced from local farmers and hand‑selected by our master butchers, we produce beef products with integrity and unmatched quality assurance.
We are currently looking for a Quality Controller who has some knowledge within a food manufacturing environment. This is a full‑time, permanent position working from 6.00am to production finish, Monday to Friday.
Role Description
You will be working at the Critical Control Point (CCP) stand facility. This is a critical role ensuring that all production processes meet the required standards and comply with food safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and inspect all aspects of the production process to ensure compliance with CCP standards
- Conduct regular checks and tests to ensure that all products meet the required specifications and quality standards
- Identify and address any quality issues or defects in a timely manner
- Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of quality issues
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of quality inspections and tests
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to address any quality‑related concerns and implement process improvements as necessary
Qualifications and Requirements
- Prior experience in a quality control role, preferably in a food production environment
- Knowledge of HACCP principles is desirable, although training will be given
- Thorough knowledge of CCP standards and food safety regulations
- Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- A flexible and proactive approach to work, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
